Call for Presentation Proposals (DEADLINE HAS PASSED)
We are calling for proposals for paper presentations, workshops and panel sessions that align with our theme or strands and are related to teacher education, clinical practice, co-teaching, or other related PDS partnership work.  Proposals will be peer reviewed by an SCPDS committee.  Concurrent sessions will likely be 45-60 minutes depending on final conference schedule.​

Call for Awards Nominations (DEADLINE HAS PASSED)

1. Exemplary Beginning Teacher Award
This award is given to a beginning teacher.  Beginning teacher is defined as someone who received his or her credential up to five years ago.  The narrative for nomination should include strong rationale for receiving the award. Focus can be on any of the following: leadership skills, product-development, lesson creativity, use of research based effective teaching strategies, collaboration skills, technology integration skills and/or overall professionalism. The beginning teacher must be connected to a Professional Development School in some way (i.e. as a teacher or serve as a mentor).  Explain why this person is exemplary. 


 
2. Exemplary School-University Partnership Award
This award is designed to be given to any P-12 school and its university partner. The
narrative for nomination should include strong rationale regarding the richness and strength of the partnership. Focus can be on the nominee’s innovation in any of the following:  preparing teacher candidates, sharing resources, reciprocal professional development, impact on P-12 students, mentoring, and/or school reform. One or more of the Nine PDS essentials should be described.

This conference is especially suited for:

 P-12 cooperating teachers, Teaching credential program directors and faculty,  Deans and Assistant Deans,  District Administrators and Principals, University field supervisors

And Teacher Candidates


Friday 2/10/17(8:30am-4pm) will consist of visits to PDS school sites in partnership with Cal State Channel Islands and California Lutheran University ending with a debrief session and networking meeting . Light breakfast in morning and snacks at afternoon networking session are included.  Lunch on your own.


Saturday 2/11/17 (8:30am-3pm) will be a full day conference with Presentations and Speakers with focus on partnerships between universities and P-12 schools, strategies for mentoring teacher candidates, co-teaching strategies, strategies for Common Core and how cooperating teachers and teacher candidates can better use their partnership to improve P-12 student learning outcomes. Light breakfast and luncheon included.
